The shrinkage of the conversion vehicle market continued in August, according to data gathered by the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA).

Van conversion shipments from manufacturers to auto dealers declined 28.8% in August to 4,200 units and van conversion deliveries were down 44.1% after the first eight months of this year to 31,000 units.

Meanwhile, shipments of converted pickups fell 51.7% in August to 1,400 units and they were down 52% after the first eight months of this year to 12,300 units.

Shipments of converted sport utility vehicles (SUVs) also declined 20% in August to 400 units and converted SUV deliveries were down 27.1% after the first eight months of this year to 3,500 units.
