The sharp contraction of the conversion vehicle market continued during October, according to data gathered by the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA).
The number of van conversions shipped from manufacturers to auto dealers declined 26.8% in October to 4,100 units. After the first 10 months of this year, van conversion deliveries were down 43.3% to 38,200 units.
Meanwhile, deliveries of converted pickup trucks dwindled 79.3% in October to 600 units. After the first 10 months of this year, converted pickup shipments were down 56.7% to 13,300 units.
Deliveries of converted sport utility vehicles (SUVs) also declined 57.1% in October to 300 units. After the first 10 months of this year, shipments of converted SUVs were down 36.1% to 3,900 units.
