Cummins Inc. announced the production of its 2 millionth engine, an X15, at the Jamestown (N.Y.) Engine Plant.
Traansport Topics reported that the plant remains one of the company’s largest manufacturing facilities, accounting for 14.7% of Cummins total engine production in 2017.
The milestone engine is going into an International LT Series truck operated by Penske Truck Leasing, according to the Columbus, Ind.-based original equipment manufacturer.
International Truck is a brand of Navistar Inc.
“The Jamestown Engine Plant plays an important role in our company’s ability to produce a broad range of engines for different customers around the world serving a wide variety of markets,” said Brett Merritt, Cummins’ vice president of on-highway engine business.
