Cummins Inc. and subsidiary Onan Corp. continue to expand the national network of Coach Care service centers with the addition of the chain’s first free-standing facility in El Cajon, Calif.
The Southern California center is located on a 2.5-acre site and features a 22,000-square-foot, completely renovated building with bays for up to 20 RVs. Prior to the latest opening, Coach Care facilities had aligned with Cummins service centers.
“We had been servicing motor coaches in the same location as commercial trucks,” said Doug Pollock, Coach Care center manager. “But we felt our RV customers would be much better served in a separate facility with equipment, parts and technicians totally dedicated to them.”
Medium and heavy-duty diesel truck engine maintenance and repairs will continue to be performed at the neighboring Cummins service center.
With the addition of the El Cajon facility, the number of Coach Care centers nationwide is 29 with two more locations expected to open in the next few weeks.
For owners requiring access to their RVs during extended repairs, the Coach Care site provides free electrical hook-ups, plus there are facilities available for sanitation and sewage disposal. LP stations are also located on-site.
“We handle work covered by most manufacturers’ warranties and third-party extended warranties,” said Pollock, “so we’re a reliable source to perform warranty contract maintenance and repairs.”
