CURT Manufacturing, a leading supplier of towing products, has developed a new puck system fifth-wheel roller adapter, specifically for short-bed Chevrolet and GMC pickup trucks equipped with the OEM puck system fifth-wheel/gooseneck prep package.
According to a press release, the adapter is designed to accept all CURT fifth-wheel hitches with rollers up to 20,000 pounds. When secured to the OEM bed puck system, the pickup is immediately ready to tow a fifth-wheel trailer.
The key feature of the GM 5th wheel roller adapter #16023 is its quarter-turn anchors. With the hitch head and roller assembly pinned to the adapter, the system can easily be dropped into the puck mounts whenever needed and secured with the quarter-turn anchors. The anchors are adjustable to eliminate chucking noises between the adapter and under-bed platform, and they allow the entire hitch to be removed from the truck bed within seconds.
With a gross trailer weight capacity of 20,000 pounds, the fifth-wheel roller adapter is able to accept all CURT fifth-wheel rollers in the weight range, including the R16 (#16560) and R20 (#16550). It meets SAE J2638 testing protocols and is coated in a highly durable carbide black powder coat finish to protect against scratches and rust. It also comes with a 10-year limited warranty.
