Damon Corp., manufacturer of the Breckenridge series, maintained its position as the retail market share leader in park models during 2000, according to Statistical Surveys Inc., an independent market research firm.
Damon’s dealers sold 1,186 park models last year, giving the Elkhart, Ind.-based company a 19.5% market share, Statistical Surveys reported.
During 1999, Damon retailed 1,013 park models for a 17.7% market share.
No. 2 in park models last year was Skyline Corp., another Elkhart-based firm. Its dealers retailed 1,038 units last year to yield a 17.1% market share. During 1999, Skyline’s dealers sold 889 of its park models, giving the company a market share of 15.6%.
Chariot Eagle Inc. of Ocala, Fla., had the third-largest retail market share in park models last year. Its dealers sold 862 units last year, giving it a 14.2% market share. In 1999, Chariot Eagle dealers retailed 782 park models, giving the company a 13.7% market share.
Fleetwood Enterprises Inc., Riverside, Calif., was No. 4 in park models last year. Its dealers sold 598 units, giving it a market share of 9.8%. Fleetwood’s dealers sold 681 park models in 1999, yielding an 11.9% market share.
Cavco Industries LLC, Phoenix, Ariz., was No. 5 in retail market share, Statistical Surveys reported. Cavco dealers sold 370 units last year for a 6.1% market share. In 1999, Cavco’s dealers sold 368 units, providing a 6.4% market share.
