Dealers participating in this week’s Atlantic City Fall RV Show & Sale are looking to move 2014 models still in inventory to make room for the latest product introductions by manufacturers.

The Press of Atlantic City reported that the event, running Friday (Oct. 31) through Sunday, will feature 150 RVs on display at the Atlantic City Convention.

One local dealer — Driftwood RV Center in the Clermont section of Dennis Township — plans to discount the list price on one basic model by more than a third as a show-only price. Driftwood, which expects to bring about 40 vehicles to Atlantic City, will be the biggest single exhibitor in the show.

The show manager also expects a wide price range due to discounting. Anthony Tedesco, of GS Media & Events, said RV prices should run from $8,000 to $500,000.

“Most of the dealers coming are offering closeout models,” Tedesco said, estimating about 30% of show stock will be self-powered motorhomes and the rest trailers. “Everything at the show is new, 2014 models, and they’re trying to clear out their inventory to make room for the 2015’s to come in. Based on that, a lot of them have show-only pricing.”
