Interior furnishings supplier Decorator Industries Inc. reported a 30% increase in net income and a 9% increase in revenues for its second quarter, ended July 1, boosted by strong recreational vehicle sales.
The Pembroke Pines, Fla., company, which services the recreational vehicle, manufactured housing and lodging industries, posted second-quarter net income of $312,692 compared with $241,317 last year while sales rose to $14.5 million from $13.3 million.
Decorator said RV sales increased 17% to $8.2 million during the period.
“In contrast to the first quarter of 2006, which included about $1.1 million of hurricane-related sales for Emergency Living Units (ELUs) used by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), our RV sales did not include any sales for ELUs in the second quarter of 2006,” noted Chairman William Bassett.
For the first six months, net income increased 30% to $860,652 from $659,653 a year ago on a 13% increase in sales to $29.1 million compared with $25.7 million.
RV sales for the first half of the year were up 21% to $17.4 million versus $14.3 million the previous year.
