Interior furnishings supplier Decorator Industries Inc. reported growth in revenue and net income for the Pembroke Pines, Fla.-based company’s third quarter, despite a sharp decline in recreational vehicle sales.
Decorator had net sales of nearly $13 million for its third quarter, ended Oct. 1, compared to $12.1 million a year ago while net income increased to $347,052 from $295,020.
For the nine months, the company reported sales of $38.3 million compared with $39.2 million last year and net income was flat at just over $1 million.
“The change in sales for both the quarter and nine month period of 2005 was due to a decline in sales to our RV customers offset by increased sales to both our MH and hospitality customers,” said Chairman William Bassett.
Bassett said RV sales declined by $588,000 and $3,179,000 respectively for the third quarter and nine months due to “lower production of travel trailers and motorhomes by our customers.“
