Interior furnishings supplier Decorator Industries Inc. reported it lost $717,500 during the fourth quarter of last year, although the company did earn a profit of $133,200 for the full year 2000.

The fourth quarter loss compares with a profit of $446,300 earned during the fourth quarter of 1999. During the full year 1999, Decorator, which also supplies the manufactured home and hospitality industries, earned $2.6 million.

The Decorator’s full year 2000 sales declined 13% to $42.6 million and its fourth quarter sales were down 25% to $8.3 million.

Decorator Chairman William Bassett does not believe the RV, manufactured home or hospitality markets will improve until the second quarter of this year, due to the slowing economy.
