An Elkhart-based subsidiary of DexKo Global Inc. has added the assets of Kodiak Products Co. Inc. to its portfolio. Financial details of the Dexter Axle’s acquisition of the Texas-based axle brakes manufacturer were not disclosed.
Inside Indiana Business reported that Kodiak produces light and medium duty axle brakes for the marine, RV, horse, commercial, industrial, cargo, and select military markets. Fred Bentley, chief executive officer of DexKo Global, says combining the companies will offer customers the best trailer components and service in the trailer industry.
“As we carry out our DexKo 2020 plan, we continue to see opportunities to improve our product offering through the type of value-added acquisitions that we have recently announced,” said Bentley. “Our new owner, KPS, is providing full support to add highly engineered and high growth products to our globally leading running gear product offering.”
Dexter did not state whether any jobs would be affected by the acquisition, though Kodiak President Cameron Rapp said in a news release his company was excited to join the Dexter team.
In November, Dexter Axle acquired Utah-based Henderson Wheel & Trailer Supply Inc.
