RV and custom vehicle industry supplier firm Dicor Corp. has acquired the United Shade Division of Patrick Industries Inc., the South Bend (Ind.) Tribune reported.
Terms of the transaction involving the two Elkhart, Ind. firms were not revealed.
United Shade manufactures and distributes window coverings for the RV and leisure boat industries. Its products include pleated shades, pleated doors, windshield wraps and miniblinds.
“We are pleased to add United Shade and its employees to the Dicor family,” said Gregg Fore, Dicor’s president. “We anticipate a seamless transition for all customers and suppliers and welcome the opportunity to expand United Shade’s customer base.”
Buying United Shade expands Dicor’s product offerings, which also include decorative wheel products, roofing and sealants.
Meanwhile, Patrick made a “strategic move” to sell United Shade in order to focus on its core business of manufacturing and distributing building products and materials to the producers of RVs and manufactured homes, Patrick CFO Andy Nemeth said.
Additionally, Dicor named William Snook director of affiliate operations, which means he now oversees United Shade and three other Dicor companies: JPC, Alta Resources and Summit Supply.
Snook has served as president of JPC since 1998 and retains that position.
JPC, Alta and Summit all are in Elkhart.
