RV and lodging industry supplier Dometic Corp. has signed an agreement with The Taylor Made Group to purchase SeaLand Technology, Inc.

The purchase includes SeaLand’s custom china fixture affiliate, Norceram, based in Ingleside, Ontario.

The sale should be finalized sometime in January. The terms were not revealed.

SeaLand Technology, headquartered in Big Prairie, Ohio, is a leading manufacturer of sanitation products for the marine and RV industries.

“SeaLand Technology will be very complimentary to our core product lines,” said John Waters, president of Dometic. “This an excellent fit for both companies. The purchase will allow for growth opportunities for Dometic in the marine industry, and growth in the RV industry for SeaLand.”

During the past couple of years, Dometic and SeaLand have been involved in a joint-development program based on utilization of new technologies. Dometic was impressed with the entrepreneurial structure of SeaLand Technology and will use this opportunity to expand in different markets; continuing to uphold its commitment to provide customers with the finest quality, products, and service, according to Dometic.

“The acquisition presents new opportunities for Dometic to expand upon our position in the marketplace,” according to Waters. “It will also help strengthen worldwide prospects as we continue to grow in foreign markets.

“The acquisition will have no immediate effect on current business relations with SeaLand Technology. Our intent is to build upon the strengths and successes of both companies,” Waters said.

Headquartered in Gloversville, NY, Taylor Made Group has 93 years experience as one of the recreational marine industry’s largest, most diversified suppliers. Other companies in Taylor Made Group include Taylor Made Products, Taylor Made Systems, Taylorbrite LLC, and Taylor Made Environmental.

Dometic is the world’s largest producer of absorption refrigerators, air conditioning systems, windows, awnings and other convenience products for RVs, hotel rooms, hospitals and other industries.

Around 3,600 people are employed at Dometic production facilities worldwide.
