ELKHART, Ind. – Dometic has introduced the Electric Water Heater Essential, a fully electric RV water heater built to simplify RV systems and support more flexible builds, according to press release. Powered by campground shore power, the electric‑only design eliminates propane components and simplifies RV hot water systems, delivering reliable hot water while reducing reliance on propane so customers can spend more on what matters most: the experiences.
The Electric Water Heater Essential supports simpler integration, greater layout flexibility and low-maintenance ownership experience across the RV lifecycle, the release continued.
The Electric Water Heater Essential operates on a fully electric platform powered by campground shore power. By eliminating propane plumbing and combustion hardware.
OEMs can reduce system complexity and lower the overall bill of materials for electric-forward RV builds.
The electric‑only approach integrates into existing RV electrical systems and supports consistent, efficient production.
A cutout‑free, interior mount configuration allows installation wherever space exists inside the RV. With no exterior wall cutout, vent or access door required, OEMs gain greater flexibility across floorplans and point‑of‑use applications, from compact trailers to larger layouts.
The aluminum tank resists mineral buildup and eliminates the need for an anode rod, reducing long-term maintenance. Fewer service requirements support a more reliable ownership experience for customers and simpler support for dealers and service teams.
