Supplier firm The Dometic Corp. launched the first phase of a business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce program during the recently completed Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA) Convention/Expo in Orlando, Fla.

The Dometic program, when fully implemented, will allow RV manuafacturers (OEMs), dealers and authorized service centers to electronically order Dometic products online over Dometic´s secure, encrypted Web site.

The first phase of the Dometic program permits dealers to submit warranty registrations online.

Another feature allows Dometic to download participating OEM’s production schedules so Dometic could, for example, supply the refrigerator specified for each unit and in the order established by the production schedule.

To draw attention to its new program, Dometic provided a “cyber cafe” at con/expo which included eight computer workstations in a break room area. It also had four workstations at its con/expo display, which was one of the largest at the show.

Attendees used the cyber cafe to check their e-mail and surf the Internet.
