DuPont and D’Angelos Automotive and Industrial Coatings, industry leaders in RV paint and refinishing products manufacturing and distribution, have signed on to help make an ALS-afflicted RV enthusiast’s dream come true.
“RV Buddies,” an RV adventure-lifestyle show featuring reviews of RVs, accessories and gear, has been following the heartwarming and inspirational story of longtime Bakersfield, Calif., resident Sandy Oliver as she battles ALS (better known as Lou Gehrig’s disease), a deadly disease for which there currently is no cure, according to a news release.
Over the last several months Sandy, and her husband, Kenny, have been refitting their RV so that she can continue traveling. As she says, “This renovation will allow us once again to hit the road and travel to places unseen; to take our grandsons on camping trips, our whole family on excursions; this is what life is about for us; to be able as a handicapped person to have some independence and mobility, to travel in comfort and safety is truly a dream come true.”
DuPont and D’Angelos were moved by her inspirational story and wanted to help her make her dream come true. They did so by contributing to the conversion of her coach.
“Sandy’s story is touching and inspiring,” said Fred Wissemann, brand manager for DuPont Refinish. “DuPont is proud to partner with D’Angelos and assist with the refinishing of this project. Our participation further supports our corporate vision to provide a better, safer and healthier life for people everywhere.”
Todd D’Angelo also was impressed with Sandy’s irrepressible attitude and saw an opportunity to make a difference.
“We’re a family business and have been since we started in 1956. Sandy is all about spending as much time with her family as she can and that’s something we can really relate to. We’re thrilled to help make that happen for her.”
Sandy’s story can be followed through various segments, blogs and pictures at www.RVBuddiesOnline.com.
