RV industry supplier firm Dura Automotive Systems Inc. reported sharply lower fourth quarter earnings due in part to the soft RV market and costs related to the closure of an RV parts plant in Elkhart, Ind.

The parent of Atwood Mobile Products reported its fourth quarter earnings declined 67% to $3.5 million and its sales were down 2% to $655.5 million.

However, Dura’s earnings for the full year 2000 increased 1% to $41.8 million and its sales were up 20% to $2.63 billion.
