Dutch Park Homes Inc., Goshen, Ind., recently introduced its Classic 102 series to address the increasing demand for 8-foot wide park model trailers, according to Stu Holaway, president.

Classic 102 series units were unveiled during the major RV consumer/trade show in Harrisburg, Pa., and Holaway said, “Consumers liked the openness produced by the higher ceilings, which is a trademark feature of our entire line.”

Earlier, Dutch Park surveyed retail dealers and the company developed four floorplans based upon the results, Holaway said. “We came back from Harrisburg with a 10% increase in our dealer base,” he added.

Dutch Park will continue to focus on the mid- to upper-end of the park model market, and the Classic 102 series is intended to provide “a superior finished product at a competitive cost,” according to the company.

Among the structural features of the Classic 102 are:

2 X 6 floor construction allowing for the use of residential ducting to improve air-flow.

A 5/8-inch floor with a 25-year warranty.

90-inch sidewalls which heighten the open-air feeling while allowing for ceiling fans.

Currently, about 40% of the park model market is comprised of 8-foot wide models, which explains why Dutch Park introduced the Classic 102 series about a year ahead of the time established in the company’s five-year strategic plan, Holaway said. “It’s a significant move because we were missing a large segment of the market.”
