High-end minimotorhome manufacturer Dynamax Corp. is adding two 25,000-square-foot buildings to its production campus in Elkhart, Ind., with an eye toward increasing production this summer.
“Last spring we were backed up about four months on some of our products,” said Rick Horn, vice president of sales and marketing. “We’d like to be out six to eight weeks. We are looking for an increase in production.”
Horn said the company also expects to hire an unspecified number of new workers when the expansion is finished in June.
“We pulled back a little toward the end of the year, but we had a good Louisville Show and will start to ramp back up in the spring,” Horn said.
One of the buildings will house the company’s chassis-prep area and the other will serve as Dynamax’s final finish shop.
Ground was broken in early December on the expansion, which will increase the overall size of the builder’s production facilities from 135,000 to 185,000 square feet.
