Eight RV manufacturers qualified for the Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA) 2004 Quality Circle Award, marking the 11th year the trade organization has cited top-performing companies in the industry.
Manufacturers that qualified for the award include: Ameri-Camp, Carriage Inc., K-Z Inc., Lance Camper Manufacturing Corp., Newmar Corp., Nu Wa Industries Inc., Tiffin Motorhomes Inc., and Winnebago Industries Inc.
King of the Road and TrailManor Inc. each had equally high ratings, but fewer than 15 responses, and will receive a Special Recognition Award.
The award is presented to manufacturers receiving overall ratings of 80% in a confidential Dealer Satisfaction Index (DSI) survey of the dealers who sell their brands. The results of the 2004 survey contained 1,818 individual manufacturer evaluations from 503 dealers.
“We consider the DSI survey to be a great measurement tool for not only product quality, but also the quality of our sales and service programs and manufacturing processes,” said Winnebago Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President Bruce Hertzke, who noted the company earned the award for the ninth straight year. “The survey provides us with an annual benchmark that shows how our dealer partners perceive the company and our products. We are extremely honored to receive the prestigious Quality Circle Award from RVDA.”
According to RVDA, the DSI is used to help improve dealer-manufacturer relations by identifying how dealers perceive the strengths and weaknesses of their manufacturers.
The DSI survey asks dealer to rate manufacturers in the following categories: sales, product, management, and service/warranty support.
