Rental firm El Monte RV is offering discounts on units in its inventory for use as temporary housing for Southern California residents who have been evacuated from their homes or whose homes have been damaged or destroyed by wildfires in the region.
“We want to make finding a place to temporarily live as easy as possible for residents that have already suffered enormous loss,” said Ken Schork, El Monte’s president.
The Santa Fe Springs, Calif., company is offering Class A and Class C motorhomes and fifth-wheels for rent at a discount to fire victims.
El Monte also has donated a number of motorhomes to rescue authorities for use as temporary headquarters for relief staffing.
The company will deliver motorhomes to people in remote locations or to those left without transportation.
San Bernardino area residents also can visit the El Monte location at 565 E. Redlands Blvd. in that city.
San Diego County residents displaced by the Cedar, Otay and Paradise fires can rent motorhomes from El Monte at Santee Rents in Santee, 8665 Mission Gorge Road; California Baja Rent-A-Car in Spring Valley, 9245 Jamacha Blvd., and at Mission Truck Rentals in Oceanside, 3320 Mission Ave.
Those displaced by the Simi Valley and Piru fires north of Los Angeles also can get motorhomes delivered or can pick them up at the following locations: El Monte RV in Van Nuys, 6323 Sepulveda Blvd.; D&G Automotive in Camarillo, 372 Dawson Drive; at El Monte RV in El Monte, 12061 E. Valley Blvd.; and at El Monte RV in Santa Fe Springs, 12818 Firestone Blvd.
