Members of The Escapees RV Club will be descending on Elkhart County, Ind., this weekend for the Escapees Fall Escapade, according to an article in the Elkhart Truth.
The Fall Escapade is one of two national rallies hosted by the Livingston, Texas club.
Around 1,100 RV families are expected to pull into the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds in Goshen, Ind., for the event, scheduled to run Sept. 12-17. Members will be involved in a series of seminars focused on the RV lifestyle, including subjects such as banking while traveling, communication on the road, towing and medical care.
Additionally, club members will have access to the hub of manufacturers based in Elkhart for factory tours, repairs or shopping for new rigs.
“The Escapees Club members will be wearing their name badges and Escapade ribbons at the fairgrounds as well as when they patronize local businesses,” Fall Escapade Director Wayne Roberts said. “Escapees members look forward to the Escapade Rally as a time and place to meet up with their friends,” Roberts said.
The Truth reported that the rally should have a significant economic impact on the area because of the 2,300 people expected for the gathering. This year marks the fifth time the Escapees have chosen Goshen for the event.
“Escapees RV club members were treated royally last September,” said Cathie Carr, the club’s chief executive officer.
Escapees was founded in 1978 by Joe and Kay Peterson as a support service for full-time RVers. The club has grown to include 40,000 members and offers a full slate of services to its membership.
