Supplier LE Technologies, Elkhart, Ind., is beginning construction on a 110,000-square-foot production facility to expand the metal fabrication capabilities of subsidiary firm Amfab, which manufactures RV frames.
According to a report in the South Bend Tribune, the expansion will add 20 to 25 jobs. Completion is scheduled for June.
Kevin Robinson, vice president and general manager of LE subsidiary Venture Technologies, indicated the expansion represents the first step in an eventual two-phase project.
“We supply a lot of major RV companies,” Robinson said. “With all of them growing, we have to follow suit and grow to meet the demand.”
Robinson said if the market dictates more growth, future plans could include an additional 100,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Elkhart that could add up to 150 new jobs.
“It’s hard to project what will happen,” Robinson said, “but the way the RV industry is growing, we’ll probably be adding quite a bit here.”
