U.S. Department of Labor data shows three Indiana cities have made some of the largest employment gains in the country since the end of the Great Recession.
Bloomberg reported employment in the Elkhart-Goshen region increased by more than 41,300 jobs since 2009, the highest in the U.S. Kokomo was third overall and Columbus came in 13th. The numbers suggest unemployment in Elkhart-Goshen fell by nearly 14,000 over the last nine years.
The publication came up with the figures by determining the net change in employment and unemployed in each metropolitan area, then dividing those figures by labor force levels to rank the greatest level of improvement.
