County officials in northeast Florida have given the go-ahead to construction plans for an Emerald Coast RV dealership that would include a Camping World RV accessories store.
According to the St. Augustine Record, the St. Johns County Planning and Zoning Agency approved a proposal for a 20-acre expansion to an existing retail outlet center.
The new site for Emerald Coast, an affiliate of national RV dealer network FreedomRoads LLC, will include RV sales and service along with 150 parking spaces. The Record reported that Emerald Coast and Camping World will share the new location.
The developer, Hallmark Partners of Jacksonville, said the two commercial acquisitions will help the county’s economy by adding jobs and drawing high-end RV customers to stop and shop.
Coen Purvis, senior vice president of Hallmark, said site plans for the property will now be drawn up.
“We’ll get our permits before spring, and we hope to break ground before summer,” Purvis said. Grand opening is expected in December, he said.
