Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) members will gather at the historic Willard InterContinental Hotel in Washington, D.C., June 12-15 for Committee Week 2006 to plan the association’s agenda for fiscal year 2007.
Eleven RVIA standing committees, the executive committee and the Board of Directors will meet during the annual four-day event.
In addition, the Go RVing Coalition and its Committee on Excellence are also scheduled to meet on June 12. The five task forces appointed by the Committee on Excellence to examine how best to improve the satisfaction level of RV owners will give preliminary recommendations to the full committee.
This year’s Monday luncheon speaker, James Lucier, is a senior vice president and research analyst with Prudential Equity Group LLC. Lucier, whose 20 years of regulatory expertise in Washington, D.C., includes positions in the Reagan White House, is an expert at developing strategic views of energy markets and companies in the oil, natural gas, electric power and coal industries.

Lucier will address the current climate of the fuel and energy markets and the impact on the RV industry.
In conjunction with Committee Week, RVIA members will meet with elected officials and members of Congress during the fourth annual Capitol Hill Advocacy Day on June 14. Since RVIA began this event in 2003, the industry has seen a number of high-profile visits to manufacturing plants by officials.
All committee members and attendees also are invited to the American Recreation Coalition’s (ARC) Great Outdoors Week 2006 reception June 12 at the South Penthouse of the Interior Department in Washington, D.C.
