Hymer family visits Kitchener, Ontario facility

Erwin Hymer Group North America Inc., a leading Class B manufacturer in North America, welcomed Carolin and Christian Hymer to its Kitchener, Ontario manufacturing plant last week. In February, Germany-based Erwin Hymer acquired Roadtrek Motorhomes Inc.

Visiting Ontario for the first time, the daughter and son of founder Erwin Hymer stopped by to see first-hand the North American head office of the family-run business, according to a press release.

“This is an exciting time for us.” stated Jim Hammill, president and CEO of Erwin Hymer Group North America. “Our business has grown substantially since we were acquired byErwin Hymer Group. We are honored to have Carolin and Christian Hymer here to see not only what our current production plant looks like, but how we are incorporating European products into our mix and where we are taking the business in the next five years in North America.”

After a tour of the manufacturing plant, Christian Hymer addressed the employees who gathered to meet them, stating, “We are very proud to be here and to have you in our family business.”

Also on hand to welcome them to the Kitchener area, were Kitchener Mayor Barry Vrbanovic; Waterloo Regional Chair Ken Seiling; and Tony LaMantia and Sherryl Petricevic representing the Waterloo Region Economic Development Corp.

“We feel very lucky to have the great support from the community, to have the local dignitaries come and stand with us today is truly remarkable” said Hammill “We are proud to have our roots in this area for the past 43 years, and we are thrilled about the growth our business is going to bring to the area’s economy for the next few years.”
