The Escapees RV Club, headquartered in Livingston, Texas, will host the 54th Escapade at Indiana’s Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds May 12 -17. According to a press release, Escapade is a five-day, fun-filled, informational event centered around the RV way of life, delivering an extensive lineup of educational workshops and lifestyle presentations for the RV enthusiast.

First held in Bakersfield, Calif., in 1979 with 24 families attending, the event now attracts over 1,500 attendees from across the nation and internationally. As the third-largest RV club in the nation, Escapees RV Club members share “a very special bond and a passion for RV travel.” Considered one of the top educational venues for RVers in the country, classes are geared to the needs of serious RVers as well as teaching RV basics to people new to the RV lifestyle.

On May 15, Escapees RV Club will host a complimentary community appreciation day as a special thankyou to the surrounding communities. Area residents are invited to visit from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. to learn more about the club, its members and living the RV lifestyle. Guests may participate in the seminars, craft show-and-sell and peruse the wide selection of RV-related products available in the exhibitor and market areas.

Other events include first-rate evening entertainment, crafts sessions, line dancing, RV driving classes, travel, computer and RV technical presentations and daily socials round. Escapees RV Club and Adventure Caravans will bring musician-impressionist Johnny Counterfit to entertain Escapade attendees on Monday evening along with the Homestead Pickers on Tuesday night.
