Hundreds of RVs are making their way to Sedalia, Mo., for Escapees’ 58th Escapade as the club marks its 40th anniversary, according to a press release. The rally kicks off on Sunday, May 27, with a day of socials, opening ceremonies, and entertainment from Bil Lepp, and continues through the following week.
In addition to Lepp’s storytelling, famed illusionist Reza will entertain the 1,000-plus RVers on Monday night after a day of educational seminars. Tuesday evening, famed astronomer, Gary Tomlinson, will host a star party, providing an opportunity to learn about planets that can be seen with the naked eye and how the night sky changes as the earth rotates. The rally will also feature “Escapade’s Got Talent,” an annual talent show where attendees perform in front of a packed auditorium.
This year, Escapade wraps up with a celebration of the club’s 40-year history. To honor those who helped found the club in 1978, and to appreciate those who have continued to help it grow by welcoming new RVers into the community, Escapees is hosting a street fair throughout the Missouri State Fairgrounds. The fair will feature live music by local musicians, food and drinks from local breweries and food trucks and activities for kids. After sunset, attendees can view a fireworks display.
One of the best parts of Escapade is the opportunity for socialization with like-minded friends, offering the peer-to-peer conversation and information sharing. As an appreciation of opening their hometown to the club’s members, Escapees will welcome the local community to attend the event for free on May 30.
