Euramax International Inc., parent of Amerimax Building Products and Amerimax Laminated Products, reports it had a profitable fourth quarter and higher earnings for the full year 2001.
The company earned $916,000 net during the three months ended Dec. 28, compared with a net loss of $915,000 incurred a year earlier.
For the full year 2001, Euramax’ net profits increased 42% to $4.7 million.
The manufacturer of RV entry doors and other products for use by RV industry customers also reported its fourth quarter sales increased 8% to $145 million, but its full year 2001 sales were down 1% to $593.1 million, when compared with the full year 2000.
“This improvement was achieved despite sluggishness in the U.S. RV market, which continued through the end of the year,” said J. David Smith, chairman and CEO of Norcross, Ga.-based Euramax.
