Owens Corning announced today (Feb. 22) that it has renamed its Fabwel division Owens Corning Fabricating Solutions.
The former Fabwel Inc., with facilities in Elkhart and Goshen, Ind., was founded in 1972 to supply exterior aluminum sheet products to RV manufacturers. Since then, the company created a niche for itself as a custom fabricator and supplier of steel, aluminum, fiberglass reinforced sheet and vinyl exterior components to the RV, manufactured home, cargo trailer, light commercial building and boat industries.
Owens Corning acquired Fabwel in 1997 and “synergies created by the two companies, along with the use of the system approach to product performance, have created exciting new growth opportunities,” according to the Toledo, Ohio-based parent company.
“This move demonstrates Owens Corning’s commitment to its customers,” said Bud Stout, president of Owens Corning Fabricating Solutions. “Transitioning the name to Owens Corning Fabricating Solutions will translate into stronger consumer confidence in the company, its services and products.”
