Family RVing magazine, the official publication of the Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA), recently received recognition from Association Media and Publishing (AM&P), earning an EXCEL award for its 2018 publication redesign.
According to a press release, the Family RVing staff worked with Bates Creative of Silver Spring, Md., to develop the new look for the monthly RV magazine.
The design work Bates Creative did for FMCA included a new nameplate for the magazine, which had been known as Family Motor Coaching since its debut in February 1964. The change to Family RVing magazine helped signal the expansion of the FMCA RV club — formed in 1963 — to include all types of RVs. Prior to a vote of the membership in December 2017, the focus was on motorized RVs, known as motorhomes.
“We are excited to receive this award and want to thank the team at Bates Creative for developing a look for the magazine that reflects the fun and excitement of the RV lifestyle,” said FMCA president Jon Walker. “The Bates Creative team was great to work with, and we are pleased with the results and happy to see the redesign recognized via an EXCEL award.”
