The Featherlite Luxury Coach division of Featherlite Inc. has signed a three-year agreement to be an official partner and major sponsor of cable TV’s The Golf Channel.
Featherlite, also a manufacturer of specialty aluminum trailers, will be a sponsor of the Mutual of Omaha Drive, Chip & Putt Junior Challenge presented by The Golf Channel, which also is available through satellite and wireless TV providers for viewers in the U.S., Canada and Asia.
As part of the agreement, Featherlite has converted a Prevost bus shell into one of the luxury motorcoaches that it markets under the Vantare brand, which will be used by The Golf Channel’s junior team as it tours North America.
The Vantare unit is expected to log 50,000 miles a year visiting 100 communities in 40 states and Canada. It will serve as a high-tech communications center, mobile hotel and traveling billboard.
The Drive, Chip & Putt competition will begin on Feb. 7 and continue through Oct. 23. It will be aired on The Golf Channel from August through November.
