Featherlite Inc. announced today (Jan. 11) that it will move its Prevost bus conversion motorhome manufacturing operations to Sanford, Fla., from Pryor, Okla.

The move is expected to be completed around March 31.

The Oklahoma plant will continue to develop and build Vogue-brand high-end Class A motorhomes.

In Florida, Featherlite currently builds the Vantare H3-45 Prevost bus conversion and production of the Vantare XLII will be moved to Florida from Oklahoma.

The consolidation of bus conversion manufacturing in one location will allow Featherlite to “capitalize on economies of scale in key areas including purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and customer service,” said Conrad Clement, president and CEO.

Meanwhile, workers at the Oklahoma plant will concentrate on building the Vogue series, including the recently introduced 6000LX, Clement added.
