Calling it the “most expensive coach” on the RV market today, Feather Luxury Coach, Sanford, Fla., a division of aluminum specialty trailer and RV manufacturer Featherlite Inc., introduced the $2.5 million Vantare Platinum Plus during a special showing recently at a Lexington, N.C., vineyard owned by NASCAR Nextel championship team owner Richard Childress.
To call the Vantare Platinum Plus custom designed is an understatement. The interior of the 45-foot triple-slide, 54,000-pound GVWR Prevost H3-45-S3 bus equipped with a 515-hp Detroit diesel engine – laid out by designer Karen B. Horton – includes entry steps of Inca marble, with risers of hand-made glass tile embedded with copper.
The ceiling and audio-visual cabinet in the coach cabin are covered with pearlized Italian leather while the veneer on the dash and steering wheel are a special wood, African sapele Pommele.
The living area features a special liquor cabinet covered with sapele veneer while a custom desk boasts suede-lined drawers and a laptop computer with multi-function printer.
The bedroom suite features a king bed with mirrored headboard posts, crystal and antique bronze sconces and a plasma TV that rises from the footboard.
The aft closet also features a built-in treadmill with 13-inch disappearing LCD TV behind the mirror.
“This is a turn-key coach,” said James Wooley, Featherlite Luxury president and COO. “The launching of the Featherlite Vantare Platinum Plus is a momentous event for us.”
