Ten-month-old Fiber-Lite Corp., Elkhart, Ind., aims to reach consumers looking for higher fuel mileage with the entry-level, 20-foot Crystal Creek travel trailer weighing in at under 3,300 pounds. “We wanted high-end looks and quality to intersect with an entry-level price point,” said Tom White, Fiber-Lite general manager. Designed with a radius front end, the laminated fiberglass-and-aluminum, 8-foot-wide Crystal Creek features queen beds, laminated countertops, cherry cabinets, linoleum floors, bathrooms with showers and jackknife sofas. MSRP for the Crystal Creek trailer is $18,928. “We came up with a richer look while keeping the price point where it needed to be,” White said. “As we set the lineup, we hired a good group of people who will maintain that fit and finish as we grow.” Fiber-Lite also builds a 6 1/2-foot-wide Xcape travel trailer line along with Double Play and 8-foot-wide Summit Trails SURVs. White formerly worked for Newmar Corp., and Fiber-Lite President Ben Linville for Travel Supreme Inc. “We bring a lot of experience to the Fiber-Lite,” White said.
