Five RV industry veterans are among the 13 inductees who will be honored tonight (Aug. 2) by the RV/MH Heritage Foundation Inc.’s board of directors for induction into the RV/MH Hall of Fame in Elkhart, Ind.
The 2004 class to be honored during festivities at Elkhart’s Matterhorn Restaurant includes the following:
* Duane Spader, an RV finance consultant with the Spader Companies, Sioux Falls, S.D. She was a founding member of RVDA and pioneer of RV 20 Group and served as chairwoman and president of RVDA in the 1970s.
* Martin H. Lown, an RV retailer and campground operator with Coachlight RV Sales, Carthage, Mo. As a 35-year RV dealer, he was the founder and first chairman of the Holiday Rambler Dealer Advisory Board.
* C.T. McCreary, an RV manufacturer from Modernistic Industries, Gardena, Calif., one of the earliest manufacturers to open plants in various parts of the country. McCreay also was one of the founders of the L.A. RV Show.
* Gene Stout, a retired Coachmen Industries Inc. executive who held a number of RVIA leadership posts and received the RVIA’s Distinguished Service to RV Industry Award in 1983.
* Charles N. Miller, an executive with Reese Products, Elkhart, Ind., and driving force behind a number of industry service and safety programs. He served as a member of the RVDA Consumer Care Commission as well as a number of other leadership posts.
* Samuel Berry, an MH retailer with Home Folks Housing Center in Owensboro, Ky.
* John Bostick, a housing manufacturer from Sunshine Homes in Red Bay, Ala.
* Danny Ghorbani, an industry association executive from the MHA for Regulatory Reform in Washington, D.C.
* Dennis Hill, a show producer-promoter with Show Ways Unlimited in Roswell, Ga.
* Norman McAdoo, a manufactured housing community developer in Garden Grove, Calif.
* Donald Mossey, a manufactured-housing manufacturer and supplier with Seahawk Corp. in Elkhart.
* Alvin Schrader, a manufactured-housing retailer and community developer from Crystal, Minn.
* Gordon Stock, a longtime manufacturer, supplier and retailer from Elkhart.
