Fleetwood Enterprises Inc. has formed marketing partnerships with dirt-bike enthusiast media outlets and rider equipment suppliers to help market its Gearbox LSV sport utility RV.
Fleetwood formed the partnerships with Dirt Rider Magazine and Outdoor Life Network’s Dirt Rider Adventure program and M2R Helmets and Spy Optics.
Dirt Rider Magazine and Dirt Rider Adventure used the GearBox LSV, which stands for lifestyle support vehicle, at their 24-hour test event in Gorman, Calif., in January and will use it as a support vehicle at a variety of other events this year.
“Fleetwood has really raised the bar in the toy-hauler market with the GearBox,” said Ken Faught, editor in-chief of Dirt Rider Magazine and co-host for Dirt Rider Adventure. “They have done their homework and given the customer a ton of great features in an awsome-looking unit.”
M2R Helmets and Spy Optics are both using the GearBox LSV for rider support and hospitality at all 27 of the 2004 AMA Supercross Series events and 2004 AMA/Chevy Trucks USMX Series events from January through August.
“The GearBox LSV is an excellent product that really fits the needs of many of our customers,” said Randy Smith, vice president-racing for M2R Helmets. “Being able to utilize GearBox for our own marketing needs really has given our sales force and effective platform for promoting our products.”
The GearBox was designed specifically for moto and supercross riders and teams as well as dirt bike and ATV (all-terrain vehicle) enthusiasts, said Bob Rogers, channel marketing manager for Fleetwood RV. “A key component of marketing our GearBox is to give potential customers a chance to experience our product first hand in an outdoor sports environment. Having them use our product in real-life situations is the strongest possible endorsement for promoting our products,” he said.
