Fleetwood Enterprises Inc. announced today (May 9) it promoted John R. Moore to be vice president of human resources, reporting directly to the interim CEO David Engelman.
Meanwhile, the search for a permanent CEO is continuing and it may not conclude until mid- to late summer, said Kathy Snyder, director of investor relations.
The pool of candidates has been narrowed to 10 to 15 individuals and it includes people currently employed by Fleetwood, a major manufactured home builder in addition to being an RV builder, Snyder said.
Engelman, a retired attorney and Fleetwood Board member, says he does not want to become the Fleetwood CEO on a permanent basis, Snyder added.
Engelman was appointed CEO in February when Nelson Potter resigned as CEO, president and from the Fleetwood board.
Concerning Moore, he joined Fleetwood during July 2000 as human resources manager for the company’s RV Group.
In September 2001, Moore was promoted to the director level and last December, he was promoted to director-human resources, assuming full responsibility for the human resources department and all HR-related activities for the corporation.
Prior to joining Fleetwood, Moore had 16 years experience with union and union-free manufacturing companies in seven countries on four continents. He also has had significant assignments outside of human resources in operations, quality and materials management.
