Fleetwood Enterprises Inc. has named company veteran James F. Smith to the new position of vice president-towable operations.
Smith, a Fleetwood employee since 1977, now is responsible for the operations of all 10 of Fleetwood’s travel trailer/fifth-wheel and folding camper plants.
Smith will report to Chris Braun, senior vice president of the RV Group.
During the last three years, Smith was Fleetwood’s vice president-controller and chief accounting officer. Smith will be replaced in that position by Andrew M. Griffiths, currently a managing director at accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Smith, a CPA, worked for three years for accounting firm Arthur Anderson before joining Fleetwood. During the last 27 years at Fleetwood, Smith has worked his way up through accounting positions in Fleetwood’s manufactured housing and RV groups.
“Jim (Smith) has a tremendous depth of knowledge of our travel trailer operations as a result of this long experience with Fleetwood,” Braun said. “Placing a senior leader into this position clearly demonstrates the strength of our commitment to the performance our our towable operations.”
