Fleetwood Enterprises Inc. has redesigned the venerable Southwind gas Class A motorhome with new front and rear caps and more accessible exterior side-hinged storage. “It’s a total lifestyle change,” said Kevin Erdman, Fleetwood Eastern regional sales manager. “The interior is more contemporary and we’ve redesigned the slideout trim.” The 2009 Southwind, which debuted at the 80th Annual Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA) Convention July 14-17 at the Minnesota State Fairground in St. Paul, is built on either 22,000-pound GVWR Ford F-53 or Workhorse W-22 chassis, and comes standard with full body paint. It’s available in five 32-foot to 36-foot floorplans, including the 35J featuring a 21-foot curbside, full-wall slideout. “In St. Paul, customers and dealers openly expressed their enthusiasm about the modern decor, wealth of amenities and overall style of the Southwind, so we are excited to see how it does in the marketplace,” said Fleetwood RV Group President Paul Eskritt. Base MSRP: $119,280.
