RV industry seating supplier Flexsteel Industries Inc. reports its first fiscal quarter earnings plunged 90% due to “lower sales and production volume, which adversely affected the absorption of fixed costs.”

The company earned $196,900 during the three months ended Sept. 30, compared with $1.9 million earned a year earlier.

Flexsteel’s total sales declined 10% during the July-through-September period to $63.2 million.

The Dubuque, Iowa-based firm’s vehicle seating revenues declined 7% during its first fiscal quarter.
