Seating supplier Flexsteel Industries Inc. reported lower earnings because of lower RV industry production volumes.
The company’s earnings declined 52% during the second quarter of its fiscal year 2001, which ended Dec. 31, to $1.7 million. Its sales during the October-through-December period were essentially flat at $70.2 million.
Flexsteel’s vehicle seating sales were down 29% but its residential products sales increased 14% during the October-through-December period.
During the six months ended Dec. 31, Flexsteel’s earnings declined 39% to $3.6 million and its sales were down 1% to $136.8 million.
During the first half of its fiscal year 2001, Flexsteel’s vehicle seating sales were down 28% while its residential products sales were up 13%.
