Furniture supplier Flexsteel Industries Inc. has laid off 33 employees from its Dubuque, Iowa, factory, according to an Associated Press report.
The announcement of layoffs came this week. Flexsteel spokesman Justin Mills attributed the cuts to economic weakness, business conditions and consumer confidence being at an all-time low.
He says there are no additional layoffs anticipated in the “foreseeable future.”
In September, Flexsteel announced the closing of an RV seating facility in New Paris, Ind., and a manufacturing plant in Lancaster, Pa. The move impacted around 250 workers.
