Key Largo Ocean Resorts is in compliance with Monroe County, Florida regulations now that it has been rezoned from an RV park to a mobile-home community, according to keysnews.com, the online service of the Key West (Fla.) Citizen.
The resort, formerly known at the Bryn Mawr Campground, opened in 1978 and is owned by 282 shareholders, about 39% of whom are full-time residents of the facility.
The owners of the resort have battled with county zoning officials for years over the fact many of the residents live in RVs on the property year-round.
