Elkhart, Ind.-based Forest River Inc. has started building three 93,500-square-foot production plants at its manufacturing complex in Goshen and has plans for four more, according to a report in the South Bend Tribune.
“I’m up to seven now,” Forest River President and CEO Pete Liegl said. “We’re building them all for the same reason – additional capacity.”
All seven RV plants, which Liegl said should be about the same square footage, will be used to increase overall manufacturing capacity and allow for the introduction of new product lines.
“We’re busting at the seams on several (lines),” he said, adding, “I plan on shuffling a plant that is busting at the seams into a bigger plant, and then starting a new product line at the smaller plant.”
The first three plants should be operational around the first of the year, he said, which will result in the addition of about 300 jobs.
