Forest River Inc., of Elkhart, Ind., has added the Charleston Class A diesel pusher to its 2005 motorhome lineup.
The 40-foot aluminum-and-fiberglass Charleston is built on a 32,000-pound GVWR Freightliner XC raised-rail chassis with triple- and quad-slide floorplans.
Forest River calls the $195,000 Charleston an entry-level into the diesel market based on its standard 330-hp Caterpillar engine. The Charleston joins the Tsunami, which starts at $300,000, in Forest River’s diesel lineup.
In addition to being the first Forest River motorhome with 7-foot ceilings, Charleston features bus-style front caps, side-hinged pass-through storage doors and standard full-body paint.
Interior features include standard ultraleather J-couches, soft-touch vinyl ceilings, ceramic tile floors, free-standing Corian dinette tables, double 15,000 Btu and 13,500 Btu air conditioners with heat pumps and a choice of maple or cherry wood cabinetry.
