According to a press release, the Elkhart, Ind.-based builder will be showcasing new enhancements in its Legacy line including four new exterior paint schemes, an Atwood tankless water heater and upgraded TV’s prewired for the Winegard Trav’ler satellite system along. Forest River will also be unveiling a new price point in the 43-foot Berkshire brand.
Other highlights include:
• The Berkshire, introduced at last year’s Open House, will have a new 38B bath-and-a-half floorplan featuring a 30-inch entry door, slideout generator, water manifold system, polished aluminum wheels and raised rail chassis with front disc brakes. The 38B joins Berkshire’s four-slide 34QS offering a king bed and washer/dryer, and the three-slide 38A bunkhouse floorplan.
• The Berkshire XL line will be unveiling the 40A floorplan at Open House that introduces a large midship bathroom with dual sinks and a private toilet. Other amenities include aluminized steel chassis skirts, Quiet A/C system, hardwood cherry cabinetry and polished porcelain flooring. The 8.9-liter 380ISL engine with 1,150 foot pounds of torque is being offered as an option over the 360ISB 6.7-liter power plant with 800 foot pounds of torque.
• The Berkshire XLT 43A floorplan is equipped with the Freightliner XCR tag axle platform and an amenities package that includes a side radiator, 450ISL power plant with 1,250 foot pounds of torque complete with adjustable wheels, Ultra Steer rear tag axle, 150-gallon fuel tank, 15,000 pound towing capacity, Quiet A/C system, and a two-stage Jacobs braking system. Also offered as options are a 10K Onan generator, heated floors and five-color Sikkens exterior paint upgrade. Other planned floorplans include the 43B and 43C to be added at a later date.
• The Charleston will be adding a Bose sound system as standard, armless patio awning with LED lighting, shoe storage rack, Black and Burlwood VIP Smart Wheel along with two optional five-color Sikkens exterior paint schemes.
