Forest River Inc. is recalling 634 model year 2015 and 2016 XLR travel trailers due to a possible problem with an electrical inlet on the RVs.
The Elkhart Truth reported that the recall impacts the company’s T29HFS, T31FDK, T31FQSL, T30FQSL, T21FQSL, T24FQSL, T24HFS, T27HFS, T28TQDL and T30HDS models manufactured between Oct. 20, 2014, and July 14, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The electrical inlet used to connect the RVs to external electrical sources may have been strained during the assembly process, which could cause the wire to loosen at the inlet connector.
The recall is expected to begin Sept. 30. Forest River will notify the owners of all affected vehicles and dealers will rewire the connector free of charge.
