Starcraft Bus, one of North America’s largest shuttle bus manufacturers, said it will construct a 100,000-square-foot manufacturing facility to expand operations.

The South Bend Tribune reported that the new facility, which will be adjacent to the company’s headquarters on Century Drive in Goshen, Ind., will nearly double its total manufacturing space. It will increase the company’s production capacity to about 10,000 units per year and is slated to open in January.

Starcraft Bus is a subsidiary of Elkhart-based Forest River Inc., which is owned by Berkshire Hathwaway.

David Wright, president of Starcraft Bus, said in a statement that the company is “seeing strong gains in our market share and need to expand in order for us to meet the current demand, as well as plan for future growth.”
